Celebrating 40 Years of Business

Griff Slatten started Griff’s Electric, Inc. in January 1984. Over the past four decades, Griff’s Electric has served the Gateway Cities, Greater Los Angeles region, and Orange County with residential, commercial, and industrial electrical contracting. While aspects of the company have shifted to meet the needs of the industry, Griff’s Electric has remained a family-centric operation dedicated to its clients and employees.

Thank you to our loyal customers, community partners, and collaborators for entrusting Griff’s Electric over the years. Here’s to many more!

A Look Back Over the Years

September 1978 - Griff’s first day as an Electrician’s Helper. Griff helped install the red arrow sign still located at 6th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach.

January 1984 - Griff officially launches Griff’s Electric as a sole proprietor. Check out his first business card!

August 1987 - Griff hires Albert Arambula (2nd from the right), who has remained with the company over the years working his way from electrician to foreman.

1990s - Griff’s Electric expands into the aerospace industry, working alongside Applied Air, Air Mechanical, NASA, and Northrup Grumman.

2020 - Griff’s Electric responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, setting up portable triage units and accompanying electrical equipment.

Griff worked for my Dad and me while he was attending Paramount High School. He was such a good worker. We had tried to talk him into going through an apprenticeship with us. He said, mind you he was a senior in high school, that his dream was to become an electrician. It looks like his dream came true. Congrats, Griff!

Celebrating Years of Service with Acts of Service

In honor of its 40 years of business, Griff’s Electric is hosting a collections campaign to support local animal shelters. Individuals and organizations that donate will be entered into raffle drawings with a chance to win gift cards.
